AIS Technical Expands with Nine New Appointments

Following its move into a new fabrication facility earlier this year, Award winning manufacturer Insulcon Technical is expanding its team to capitalise on new world-leading product ranges and expansion into new global markets.

The specialist manufacturer of multi award-winning products and services for the offshore, construction and heavy industry sectors has recruited nine new staff members in a variety of management, business development and manufacturing roles.

New faces include operations manager, Anthony Grant, specialist metalworker Steve Welsh and business development manager Martin Cox.

Operations manager Anthony Grant, aged 41 from North Shields joins AIS from waste management specialist, Sita UK where he was responsible for operations and maintenance across the North East. He will now use his extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to build on the company’s strong foundations of safety, health, environment and quality.

Martin Cox takes on a business development role with Insulcon Technical. Martin has a wealth of experience in the non-destructive testing (NDT) industry having worked for NDT specialist Shoreland. He will now look to raise awareness of Insulcon Technical’s product and service range across a range of markets in the UK and globally.

Specialist metalworker Steve Welsh is one of several new appointments in the metalwork fabrication shop to support the rapid growth which Insulcon Technical has seen in metal products. Steve is responsible for manufacturing the new range of personnel protection equipment and rigid insulation systems for the oil and gas and heavy industry sectors.

Managing Director, Chris Evans said: “This is a hugely exciting year for Insulcon Technical. Moving to a new additional 14,000sqft state-of-the-art fabrication facility gives us dedicated space to develop new world-class metalwork and fabrication products including welding electrodes, personnel protection systems and rigid insulation systems to protect offshore assets from extreme temperature, noise, corrosion and fire.

“As well as developing these new exciting products, our global customer reach is growing and we now have distributors for our products in Indo-China, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, in addition to the Middle East and Europe.

“These new appointments will allow us to capitalise on the new business opportunities opening up as a result of our new product range and global distributor network and we are extremely happy to welcome all our new staff to the Insulcon Technical family.”

The division now manufactures and distributes 26 innovative products, including the world’s thinnest fire protection system which protects offshore structures from the heat extremes of a jet fire for between 30-120 minutes, and exports 70% of its output to 30 countries worldwide. It was named British Exporter of the Year by the British Chambers of Commerce in 2015.
