Solutions to create a safer workplace

2006

Company registered and begins trading as Advanced Insulation Solutions (AIS) with a vision to become the market leader in flexible insulation systems.

2007

The company moved into a dedicated office building. First member of staff employed.

2008

The company experienced a phenomenal first year in business with orders flooding in from large corporations including Sainsbury’s, HBOS and RBS, the company employs three more staff. Company rebrands as Advanced Industrial Solutions (AIS) due to diversifying to additional products outside of insulation.

2009

The company enters the oil & gas market signing agreements with major maintenance companies and providing products to global organisations such as BP, Shell, ConocoPhillips and Chevron. The company moves to a larger office and manufacturing unit and develops “Weather Pro” a tough weather protective insulation system designed for offshore conditions.

2010

AIS continues to reinvest in research and development and expand its product portfolio, launching several new innovative products including acoustic, high temperature and passive fire protection systems.

2012

With products now shipping world-wide, the company grows its global network by enlisting sales agent partners in strategic locations.

Innovation in everything we do

2014

The company completes its largest project to date. A contract to measure, develop and manufacture as well as install the Jet Fire Pro passive fire protection system to valves and equipment on the Kashagan D Island project in Kazakhstan.

2015

Continuing investment in research and development of new products the company launches a solid passive fire protection enclosure system and a thinner version of the current flexible PFP system adding to the Jet Fire Pro range of passive fire protection products.

2016

Further testing was carried out on the AeroLite product range bringing independent approval to show that the product can eliminate water ingress and prevent corrosion under insulation.

2017

Rebranded AIS Technical, the company expands its existing operation with a brand new £2.5million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in North Tyneside. The new 14,000sqft purpose-built site will allow the company to continue its ambitious future growth plans.

AIS Technical’s unrivaled reputation in the global energy sector attracts the attention of the IPCOM Group. The company is successfully acquired by the Group in early 2019.

2019

Being part of the IPCOM Group gives AIS Technical access to other complementary world-leading products strengthening its insulation and PFP offer and brings new growth opportunities.

2021

The company begins manufacturing expansion joint and bellow products for IPCOM groups company Insulcon and also supports group company TIDL supplying flexible insulation jackets to Ireland. The company also completes its largest-ever project supplying the innovative AeroLite system to a major refinery.

2022

The company is rebranded as Insulcon Technical seeing us fully integrated into the IPCOM group and following the group strategy of reducing the number of brands.

Major investment in 2022 will see the company increase its manufacturing capacity and capabilities, bring new product lines and employ additional people in key strategic roles.
